Whilst we all know that ruffles have been an important trend for the Summer season, these frills are not going anywhere as we move into Autumn Winter 2016. But expect them to be bigger, fuller and more sculptural before.
Moving on from the cold shoulder cut out we've seen over the last few months, AW16 will see our shoulders and sleeves going into excess to make up for it. The silhouette for AW16 has gone big, so expect billowing shoulders and sleeves full of voluminous ruffles and frills.
Whilst in the past ruffles have had a decidedly victorian twist. The new season opens up the way for more a modern interpretation too, with big minimal frills and sensual lace ruffles. But if you are a fan of the darkness AW16 typically brings, not to worry, the gothic yet romantic influence will still be a key look in your Autumn Winter wardrobe.

Ruffles will be the key transitional trend as we move from one season to the next. So begin filling your wardrobe with ruffles now, and as we move to Autumn, make them bigger and more extravagant than ever.
