lfw streetstyle

Last week we were checking out the looks from the streets of New York. This week it's all about London. With LFW offering much milder weather, fashion week-goers had much more scope to show off their style. The streets of London Fashion Week were instead all about volume, with OTT ruffles and layers of tulle spotted all over town

As with NYFW street style, we noticed a definite 90s influence for many of the looks this side of the pond, with plenty of textured torn denim, tinted sunnies and those AW17 fishnet finishes.

New Yorkers have been taking a snowy fashion week in their stride. Styling it out, with a whole heap of 90s nostalgia along the way. Think camo jacket layers and puffa coat silhouettes. With sturdy Timberland boots and mega platform trainers to see NYFW-goers effortlessly take on the snow filled sidewalks.

Whilst we're not expecting snow at LFW, take a leaf out of these top New York Fashion Week street style looks for some top tips on mixing delicate sheer layers and floaty fashionable frills with 90s inspired trends. And even some bold practical footwear to keep you on your feet from morning till night.

It feels as though Summer as arrived with the temperatures set to rise this weekend. Which reminds us that we really need to get our Summer wardrobe in order!

Blogger Chiara Ferragni of The Blonde Salad, is often snapped in a perfectly put together lace look that we here at NAVY totally fall for. And these street style snaps from Paris Fashion Week are no different. Giving us inspiration for a kick ass summer look that ticks so many SS16 trends off the list.

Spotting Aussie babe Tallulah Morton rocking this edgy street style look has given us festival dressing goals.

With Coachella on the horizon, festival season is just about to kick off. Known for the fashion just as well as the music, you know you got to have your festival wardrobe on point if you're heading to Coachella. Tullulah's floaty lace and grunged up hair is a lesson in how to achieve that perfect mix of rock chick chic.

With the temperatures dropping, it is the time of year to be layering up under chunky knits and heavy coats. But that doesn't mean you need to give up on your favourite sheer lace pieces. The clash between the delicate lace and textured knits only adds to enhance the beauty of the fabrics.

Fashion blogger and journalist Emma Elwin knows how to work this look. Mixing the intricacies of a lace midi skirt with the minimalist tones and textures of some winter layers to keep warm. An outfit full of dark broody tones teamed with perfectly tousled hair, making this style snap look effortless. Appearing casually thrown together yet still über stylish, but beneath it all there is no doubt that is a well thought through outfit.

So add a touch of lace to soften your winter layers this season to add some casual chic to your layered up looks. Keep rocking the lace all year round and keep it effortless all year round. That is the way of the NAVY girl.

At NAVY, we're all about making lace much more than a delicate feminine fabric. And no one does that better than Jamie Bochert.

The American musician and model is well known for her impossibly high cheekbones and Patti Smith-esque features. Bochert knows how to work the grungey rock star look and this street style snap shows how easy it is to take the gentle fabric of lace, but wear it with some attitude and give it a powerful twist.

Clashing textures is key to getting this type of street style look, and Winter brings many opportunities for this. Layering up with chunky knits Bochet style, piling on an oversized coat or even clashing with a vintage leather jacket.

So there is no reason to put away your sheer lace numbers as the temperatures drop and Winter rolls in.
