NAVY London Blog

We have so much love for our NAVY girls that are spread far and wide around the world. And now for our NAVY damen, you can get your hands on the latest NAVY looks oh so easily.

A whole heap of the newest SS16 pieces have just landed on Zalando.de for your pickings.

Sheer layers are always popular through the Summer months, and this year more than ever. With major trends for SS16 including ruffles, frills and relaxed romanticism, sheer layers help to add a touch of edge to the season.

Here at NAVY, we know that when planning those all important summer wardrobes and festival looks, sheer is key. We've picked out our top SS16 pieces to add those touches of sheer to see you through the Summer in style.

Erdem

Each Summer, designers deliver a collection full of feminine frills and floaty fabrics, but this year, the designers took it darker. The new romantic take on the current SS16 collections brought us gothic inspired lace designs, striking victorian silhouettes, strong and seductive looks but with a dishevelled aesthetic.

Look to McQueen, Balenciaga, Erdem and Proenza Schouler as just a few leading examples of how to work the lo-fi take on a traditionally romanticised and feminine season. Frills, ruffles and delicate sheer layers are not to be dismissed this Summer as they make up key elements of this trend. But infused with a touch of 60s rock chic attitude to add some edge.

So. There's even more NAVY just landed on ASOS.

We already know that adding volume with ruffles and frills is a key trend for SS16, and we're here to make sure you take this trend on in style. Forget dainty ruffles and pretty little frills. Add some edge and gothic glamour to your new season wardrobe with our latest drop of NAVY coming your way.

It feels as though Summer as arrived with the temperatures set to rise this weekend. Which reminds us that we really need to get our Summer wardrobe in order!

Blogger Chiara Ferragni of The Blonde Salad, is often snapped in a perfectly put together lace look that we here at NAVY totally fall for. And these street style snaps from Paris Fashion Week are no different. Giving us inspiration for a kick ass summer look that ticks so many SS16 trends off the list.

This season is all about volume, all about ruffles. Now forget about girlish frills, this season, ruffles have grown up.

It's all about roughing up your ruffles this year. Ruffles for Spring Summer 2016 are here to add bold silhouettes, asymmetric tiered hems, voluminous sleeves and confident detailing to your wardrobe. Clash these traditionally feminine textures with androgynous accessories, edgy sheer layers and chunky bold shoes.

Whilst the season of Summer is so often associated with crisp white tones in the world of fashion. This time around, expect Spring Summer 2016 to be all about the contrast of black and white.

On the runways of New York, London and Paris, we saw a much bigger concentration of edgy gothic lace, sheer black numbers and dark ruffles than in previous years. Contrasting perfectly alongside awesome white slip dresses, fresh floaty dresses and crisp white layers.
Even more NAVY for our girls. You can now snap up the newest pieces of the SS16 NAVY London collection online at Lipsy. And just in time for pay day too...

Grab yourself a piece of the Summer, and get your wardrobe ready for festival season. NAVY is all about floaty festival perfect pieces and vintage inspired dresses - and our Spring Summer 2016 collection is all that and more.
Newest of the New from NAVY
A whole heap of new has just landed online at ASOS to freshen up your Spring Summer 2016 wardrobes. Forget about grey grey winter, step into the crispness of Spring with NAVY. The latest from the SS16 collection to hit ASOS is nothing but the whitest of white. From delicate lace dresses, to cami tees, to floaty festival perfect pieces. It's all white from NAVY this week.

Forget about the wind and the rain. Drift off into a daydream of blue skies and warmer days as we take a look over our top Spring Summer 2016 ad campaigns. These new campaigns are just being released and signal the switch into the new season, and gives you a glimpse into what's ahead for SS16.

The slip dress has to be the key buy for SS16. And there is no time like the present to start hunting down that essential dress to see you through the season. Whether trimmed with scalloped lace such as at Celine and at Givenchy, or floating satin styles such as at Maiyet and Narciso Rodriguez. Slip dresses in all shapes and styles are here.

All that is left, is for you to style up these dainty dresses your own way. Look to Burberry Prorsum for ways to capture that lo-fi style, or take inspiration from Emilio Pucci by layering long sleeve tees underneath.

Nineties inspired slip dresses will be an essential for this years festival scene. There is no one better than Saint Laurent for ways to style these delicate dresses with a pair of essential wellies and a stylish coat to make them festival perfect this Summer.

Take a look over our SS16 catwalk review and fall in love with the 90s slip dress trend yourself.

Through both Autumn Winter 15 and Spring Summer 16, there has been one strong trend that only the bravest of us will be sporting. Facial jewellery, piercings and bold detailing rocked the catwalk for several designers, especially at both the AW15 and SS16 Givenchy shows.

Calling upon the endless talents of make up artist Pat McGrath, Givenchy's facial jewellery and face lace celebrate the strength of female beauty and empowerment. Drawing upon the gothic yet romantic and Victoriana influences that are all strong elements in the fashion industry this season and next.

From faux septum piercings, to bold ear cuffs and even adding ringed accessories to your hair, get inspired to go bold this season.

Whilst Saint Laurent and Louis Vuitton were on hand to show us that the 70s is still a key influence for 2016, combining attitude, lace, lo-fi fashion and punk vibes in style.
