Now that fashion week has finished in London, having already got underway in Milan, it's time to review the week that was and check out the biggest Autumn Winter 2017 trends. From the most stylish ways to keep warm this Winter, to the trends you can invest in for Spring that will see you through the whole year in style.

Last week we were checking out the looks from the streets of New York. This week it's all about London. With LFW offering much milder weather, fashion week-goers had much more scope to show off their style. The streets of London Fashion Week were instead all about volume, with OTT ruffles and layers of tulle spotted all over town

As with NYFW street style, we noticed a definite 90s influence for many of the looks this side of the pond, with plenty of textured torn denim, tinted sunnies and those AW17 fishnet finishes.

If you thought that we'd already hit 'peak' ruffle, then we're afraid to say you're wrong. The love for a touch of frill has been growing since SS16. At the moment, AW16 is all about big and bold ruffle silhouettes. But one thing we have learned from the latest run of shows at London Fashion Week is that those ruffles, frills and high collars are here to stay. And are getting even bigger and bolder than before.

If it's for Spring Summer 2017, then it needs ruffles. Whether up, down, sideways or all around, SS17 is all about taking traditional femininity and adding a touch of 80s power dressing, or turning it dark with a punky attitude and edgy accessories.

As we're sure you are aware, London Fashion Week has arrived and the Spring Summer 2017 catwalk shows are in full swing. But out on the streets of the capital, a whole other kind of catwalk show is taking place.

London is usually renowned for having some of the quirkiest and boldest street style looks of all the fashion weeks around the globe. However, this September we seeing another season of slicker and more pared back looks hitting the streets. Just like as with NYFW's street style snaps, there were frills, frills and more frills. One of the key trends of the AW16 season. The ruffled blouse in particular looks to be the LFW staple this season.

Conveniently housed right in the heart of LFW at Somerset House, you can easily drop by and immerse yourself in the surreal, the colourful and the provocative world of Guy Bourdin.


The largest exhibition of Bourdin's work ever held in the UK, it is the perfect opportunity to witness some of his most famous images alongside the lesser know work of his 40 year career as a top fashion photographer.

Viewing this retrospective of Boudin's photography as a whole, you can't avoid the sense of quite how innovative and boundary pushing his work truly was. Especially when considering that much of this work comes from the late 70s. When publishing abstract and sexually provocative fashion photography as part of high profile campaigns or even amongst the pages of Vogue was uncommon and controversial.

Be sure to immerse yourself in the 360° cinema of Boudin's bold fashion films from the same era. A new and unheard of medium for fashion imagery at the time, capturing the glamourous femme fatales so iconic within Guy Bourdin's but in a whole new light.
