We're hitting the shops this weekend to invest in some winter layers to get us through the season. As the temperature outside has taken a serious tumble, we're ready to begin layering up with heavy coats, badboy boots and chunky knits to keep us warm.

At NAVY, we think the Willow Lace Dress is an awesome starter for any winter ootd. The midi length lace dress is perfect for layering beneath knitted jumpers and for teaming with chunky black boots. Throw on the Stella Jumper with its crochet back detail, a classic camel long-line coat (prepare to see these everywhere this season) and top off with a staple black beanie.

We love Autumn layering. This street style look has transitional styling down to a tee. Teaming a delicate lace midi dress with kick ass boots and heavy woollen materials to make the transition into the colder months.

Black lace is a classic winter staple. Adding feminine and delicate touches to any winter outfit, but with a bit of attitude thrown in to match the darker evenings.

As the temperature drops, we've been getting inspired by some sweet street style snaps that perfect transitional layering and inspire our AW14 looks. Now, we're off to dig out our staple black beanie ready to brave the chill the air outside.

It's time to accept Summer is over. With SS15 teasing us of warmer climes, the reality is that the transition into Autumn/Winter styles has begun. If, like us, you're reluctant to consign your floaty skirts and denim shorts to the back of the wardrobe until next year don't despair.
Transitional dressing is all about easing yourself into the next season. Swap your summer pumps for a pair of chunky lace up boots or sneakers. Keep your simple summer skirts but team with a winter knit to make the switch to AW14 and keep you cosy as the weather cools.

The Stella jumper is perfect for this task. In a soft grey knit, it is a colour which we have seen lots of for SS15 and so a great item to transition you into Winter and then back into Spring on the other side. With delicate lace detailing to the shoulder and back, it will keep you cool whilst keeping you cosy at the same time. As the season goes on, team with leather skirts or sheer maxi shirts to make to most of texture clashing styles that we prominent on the AW14 catwalks earlier in the year.
