NAVY London Blog

Sheer layers are always popular through the Summer months, and this year more than ever. With major trends for SS16 including ruffles, frills and relaxed romanticism, sheer layers help to add a touch of edge to the season.

Here at NAVY, we know that when planning those all important summer wardrobes and festival looks, sheer is key. We've picked out our top SS16 pieces to add those touches of sheer to see you through the Summer in style.

Whilst the season of Summer is so often associated with crisp white tones in the world of fashion. This time around, expect Spring Summer 2016 to be all about the contrast of black and white.

On the runways of New York, London and Paris, we saw a much bigger concentration of edgy gothic lace, sheer black numbers and dark ruffles than in previous years. Contrasting perfectly alongside awesome white slip dresses, fresh floaty dresses and crisp white layers.

We're in the midst of Winter, building up to the party season of Christmas and New Years. But here at NAVY, we're already focused on unveiling the SS16 collection. Earlier in the year we gave you a hint of what is to come with some behind the scenes snaps from our look book shoot. So, now, we thought we'd give you an extra teaser with a sneak peek at some of the final images from the upcoming Spring Summer '16 campaign.

Full of vintage inspired sheer tops and floaty festival perfect lace pieces to see you through the adventures of the Summer months. But, also expect a touch of black too, with a few layered up black lace dresses to go with the monotone trends coming next year. But you'll have to wait just a little longer to get your hands on these NAVY looks.

Stay tuned to NAVY's Facebook, Twitter & Instagram to be the first to know when the new season lands.

In the meantime, you can pick up the current AW15 collection to see you through the party season either online at ASOS or in store at Topshop, Oxford Circus. Or check out the AW15 look book to chose your favourite NAVY piece from the current season.

As Paris wraps up the final week of SS16 collections unveiled on the catwalk, we all know what to expect next season.

Layering lace, a-line silhouettes and monochrome tones were all important elements spotted on the runways of Balenciaga, McQueen and Moncler Gamme Rouge to name but a few. Whilst Saint Laurent and Louis Vuitton were on hand to show us that the 70s is still a key influence for 2016, combining attitude, lace, lo-fi fashion and punk vibes in style.

Take in the best looks from Paris Fashion Week and get a taster of what's to come next Spring.

The show we were waiting for at Paris Fashion Week - McQueen. Pulling off another season of brooding, romantic, sheer lace gowns, but with the lightness, volume and flow of Spring / Summer.

Layer of lace, body jewellery, antiqued chains , fairytale heroines - all inspired by the 17th Century rag trade of London's East End.

Over for another season, London Fashion Week didn't pull the outrageous alternative style punches it's know for, but was a delight non the less, signalling a sleek yet lo-fi Spring Summer to come.

Bora Aksu and Erderm brought some beauty to the week with reimagined lace designs, lots of emphasis on floor length dresses and volume. Burberry proved that lace isn't just for ladies. It was also the highlight of how to work the lo-fi look, teaming delicate lace with tench coats and rucksacks.

JW Anderson and Ashley William tell us that the 80s is still set to be an important reference in 2016, bomber jackets are key. Whilst Simone Rocha's floaty and quirky silhouettes capture the dreamy side of SS16.
