Clashing textures of suede and heavy knits with floaty lace, Elyse Taylor makes an appearance in the June 2016 issue of Cosmopolitan Australia. Layering lace dresses and 70's inspired tops, this editorial is a lesson in how to dress delicate lace in between seasons, from those chilly Spring mornings to warm Summer evenings.

Embrace etherial white for Spring Summer 2015 and channel the chic styles of many catwalk looks this season. White featured heavily amongst the collections of almost every designer showing at New York, London, Milan and Paris last year.
From the prairie inspired collared dresses of Chloe to the bohemian spirit of Alberta Ferretti's lace and fringed suede styling. There is no denying that SS15 will be awash with crisp white layers and sheer silhouettes.

Whilst we have to wait until Spring to wear the fashion styles that have been hitting the runways of New York, London, Milan and Paris over the last few weeks, there is no reason you can't introduce some of the beauty trends into your AW14 style.
Without a doubt, SS15 is the season of slicked back wet look hair. Seen on the catwalks of Thakoon, Balmain and Vivienne Tam to name just a few. Recreate that 'just out of the shower' look with gel to slick back hair for an artfully unkempt do harking back to the 90s.
Red was the colour on the lips of many SS15 models. Often worn with winged eyeliner and smokey eye shadow for a gothic look on the catwalks, wear your favourite red lippy on its own with nude eye make-up to tone it done for day-to-day wear come Spring.
Whilst red lipstick was a make-up artist favourite, fresh minimal make was certainly a more popular look for many designers. Complementing the wet-look hair, simple matte make up featured in the SS15 shows of Chritsopher Kane, Alberta Ferretti, Alexander Wang and Victoria Beckham.
Beauty has never been so simple. Roll on SS15.

Milan Fashion Week is the base for many of the biggest and most established fashion houses around the world, with Gucci, Prada, Armani and Dolce and Gabbana calling the streets of MFW home. It was Dolce and Gabbana who delivered one of the most talked about show finales of the week, a parade of sleek models wearing crisp white blouses off set with spanish matador inspired and D&G style embellished red shorts. Led of course, by model of the moment Kendall Jenner.
Dolce and Gabbana stuck with their signature palette of black, white and red teamed with lots of regal golden embellishments. They also stuck with their familiar lace and sheer fabrics that they command so well, this time causing some serious sock envy to with their delicate lace offerings.

Alberta Ferretti brought bohemian prettiness with a touch of Pocahontas thrown in the mix. Full of romantic lace dresses with suede jackets over the top. Ferretti teamed his etherial dresses with lots of fringing - set to be a key trend for SS15.

Then came Roberto Cavalli, who had us longing for Summertime parties on yachts in the Mediterranean Sea. Here we saw edgy black and white dresses with hints of denim (a fabric that seemed to be a compulsory feature for all designers this season). Flat footwear ruled the catwalk once more, with flatform sandals not going anywhere for SS15.

For now, we're loving Paris Fashion Week which is proving itself to be even more innovative that we have come to expect both with it's trends and its immersive catwalk shows. www.NAVYLondon.com

With London Fashion Week over until next year and the fashionable elite having directed their attention to Milan, we're looking back over our favourite looks of the SS15 premiered around our favourite city.
Monochrome was once more popular for many designers for SS15. And for Spring there was a surprising amount of black and grey tones on the catwalk. The prominence of sheer materials helped to introduce the rampant use of these dark colours for Spring Summer. We've been witnessing the rise of delicate and sheer materials over the last few seasons so keep hold of those sheer blouses when it comes around to sorting out your spring wardrobe.
With sheer, we also saw a lot of summer layering, lending itself well to the 90s grunge trends which are still lingering on the catwalks. Layer up sheer shirt dresses over metallic slips or throw on an textured jumper over a contrast collar blouse and a sheer midi skirt. See Marques Almeida's SS15 show for a masterclass in summer layering.
Sporty influences were rife especially at Topshop Unique but often contrasted with floaty and textured dresses. Ashish showed us once more to not be afraid of sequins with a collection rooted in slinky slip dresses, distressed denim and sweaters - obligatory mention for the Kanye/KimK sequin masterpieces.
But our stand out SS15 collections came from Simone Rocha, Erdem, and Bora Aksu who presented fresh takes on floaty lace and lazer cut garments that will be perfect for Summer 2015. Here we saw the cream, white and neutral colour tones that we have come to expect for this season. Erdem however, went for a darker and more structured look than we have seen in the past but with exquisite detail as ever and was a highlight of LFW for many.
Now onto the most illustrious of all the fashion weeks, Milan.
