If you were one those lucky few that got to witness PJ Harvey recording her newest music as part of a week long residency at Somerset House last year, then you'll no doubt be happy to hear a preview of the album has just been released. If you didn't manage to make it to her voyeuristic Recording in Progress live exhibit, you can finally can get an opportunity to listen to the fruits of PJ Harvey's artistic endeavour.

The Community of Hope and The Wheel are the first samples from her much hyped new album, The Hope Six Demolition Project. Not many artists can whip up such anticipation in quite the same way that a double Mercury award winning artist can.

Check out the album trailer for a taster of what's to come when the full album is released in April. It'll take you straight back to those raw vocals and gruff guitar performances we've come to know and love from this leading lady.

PJ Harvey is an icon of the 90s. A raw, dynamic post-punk rocker, PJ Harvey has created music over the last twenty years which has varied stylistically without detracting from the provocative new-era blues she is renowned for. Just as her music has changed over the years, so has her sense of fashion.
When PJ Harvey first burst onto the London music scene in the early 1990s she predominantly wore black clothes, with little to no makeup and DM boots. A look which complemented the raw, noisy and stripped back essence of her music. As her songwriting turned more sexualised and featured surreal synth beats, she began to get more extravagant with her fashion choices. Vamping up the dramatic makeup and wearing extravagant yet melancholy dresses.

Again, in the early millennium, Harvey's look evolved turning more androgynous, with bold silhouettes, suits and razor straight hair. Now her look has gone full circle, as she dresses in a mostly laid back and grunge inspired fashion, similar to her early 90s style.
Many regard PJ Harvey as a true style icon because of the way her flair for fashion changed with whatever she felt most comfortable wearing, exploring new avenues of fashion to suit her current lifestyle and inspiration. Despite this journey through fashion, throughout the past 20 years her style has always remained cutting edge, punky, and expressive. Cementing her cult status as an icon of the era.
