Susie Bick, 1998 and Anon, 2001 - Photography by Donna Trope

Get an insight into the workings of esteemed fashion photographer Donna Trope as she unveils a collection of over 20,000 revealing polaroids. These instant polaroid snaps are on-set test shots and outtakes from Trope's several decades of work within the commercial, fashion and portrait photography industry.

Giving an insight into the real composition and concept of her work, before the final perfect image is put together for publication in a glossy magazine, or as part of a sleek advertising campaign.

Clashing textures of suede and heavy knits with floaty lace, Elyse Taylor makes an appearance in the June 2016 issue of Cosmopolitan Australia. Layering lace dresses and 70's inspired tops, this editorial is a lesson in how to dress delicate lace in between seasons, from those chilly Spring mornings to warm Summer evenings.

It feels as though Summer as arrived with the temperatures set to rise this weekend. Which reminds us that we really need to get our Summer wardrobe in order!

Blogger Chiara Ferragni of The Blonde Salad, is often snapped in a perfectly put together lace look that we here at NAVY totally fall for. And these street style snaps from Paris Fashion Week are no different. Giving us inspiration for a kick ass summer look that ticks so many SS16 trends off the list.

Looking for something to do this week?

The highly anticipated film, Mapplethorpe Look at the Pictures has been released with screenings taking place at independent cinemas all across the UK. From Edinburgh to Bristol, London to Manchester, and a whole host of places in between.

Bella Hadid channels Ziggy Stardust in this punked up editorial for Harper's Bazaar Korea. Combining the current influence of 1970s glam rock on fashion trends with the world-wide tributes to the one and only David Bowie. Photographer Nick Hudson captures an editorial that is contemporary in so many ways. Hadid's choppy and bold hair is teamed with androgynous make up and sees her styled in delicate lace dresses.

A joint exhibition in LA between two of it's biggest museums, is home to the biggest retrospective of renowned photographer Robert Mapplethorpe. From his iconic portraits of best friend Patti Smith, to Mapplethorpe's insightful self portraits to his radical journey through the underground sex scene of New York in the 80s.

Away from the controversies of the time and the political outrage at a gay artist's sexualised work, today, these exhibitions give us a chance to really view Mapplethorpe's ability as a photographer. The fine detail, the delicate yet stark lighting and the photographic composition.

And out of the blue, having only just released a brand new album on Friday, the news has broken that the world is now Bowie-less.

An icon across the whole realms of music, fashion and culture. The world over has found solace and beauty in one way or another from either the music, the words or the style of David Bowie. Having long been a figure we here at NAVY London have looked to for inspiration, it is truly a sad day.
