The best thing about Christmas and NYE? The parties. Planning those perfect party looks is just as important as finishing off your wish list for the big man.

We've picked out our number one Christmas party dress to get you inspired to put together your looks this month. This is the season to go all out on your looks, the best time of year to step out in clashing luxury textures. The NAVY Tiered Swing is exclusive to ASOS this AW15, and has been selling out fast.
Putting together our party season OOTD, we're layering the lace patterns with an oversized luxurious sheepskin bomber available at Topshop for a touch of glamour. Mix in some subtle croc printed accessories - peep toe heels and matching Whistles clutch - to keep your clashing texture game strong. Top off with some statement jewels, we can't wait to debut this awesome feather ear cuff from ASOS teamed with a pile of rings and a golden mesh watch (essential NYE accessory fyi).

This luxe lace look is just what is needed to own the party season this year. If you want to try out the look yourself, be quick. Our NAVY Tired Swing Dress is selling out fast. But don't worry, there is a whole heap of luxe lace dresses available from NAVY that will be awesome this party season. Shop these on ASOS or in store at Topshop before you miss out.

We're feeling festive in the NAVY studio, so today's Friday tunes are going to be some quintessential Christmas songs to get us in the spirit of the season.

We've over all the traditional Christmas music that has been on repeat since November. So we've put together a few of our favourite alternative Christmas tunes to mix up your festive listening a little this year. From the soothing tones of our favourite Kate Bush, to The Kinks singing about mugging Santa, to the unlikey pairing of David Bowie and Bing Crosby.

Here are the alternative Christmas songs you need to check out.

Kate Bush - December Will Be Magic Again

The Kinks - Father Christmas

Davis Bowie and Bing Cosby - Peace on Earth/Little Drummer Boy

Get the Christmas lights on, mull some wine, pop on your favourite cosy jumper and dig into some mince pies. The only thing missing is a good old Christmas movie to get you in the festive spirit. From the alternative to the traditional, these are our top 5 Christmas films you need to watch this week.

Edward Scissorhands
Admittedly we need little excuse to watch Johnny and Winona in the same film, but believe us, this really is a Christmas film. Everything comes to a head on the night of the Boggs' annual Christmas party as the tale of where snow really comes from is played out.

Scrooged
A modernised (well 80s) interpretation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol staring Bill Murray as a cynical TV exec taken on a dark and twisty trip full of black humour by the three ghosts of Christmas.

Bad Santa
Billy Bob Thornton is a very bad santa. Full of dark humour, evil deeds, heavy drinking, sex and profanities, this is certainly not a Christmas movie for kids.

Nightmare Before Christmas
The second Tim Burton film to appear on our top 5 festive flicks. Nightmare Before Christmas is a classic alternative xmas film blurring the boundaries between Halloween and Christmas.

It's a Wonderful Life
No December is complete with out the most traditional of Christmas films. It's a Wonderful Life is a heartwarming classic Christmas tale. A must-see at this time of year.

The frost of winter has gotten to us here at NAVY HQ and we're relying on the furry, the fuzzy and the fluffy delights of the season to keep us warm. Texture has been a key element to many trends this AW14 and is easy to incorporate into your wardrobe with some awesome fuzzy and furry coats.

There is little better than throwing an extravagant furry coat over a delicate lace outfit for a show stoping look to see you through the party minefield that is Christmas and NYE.

We've been getting inspired on Pinterest for the best ways to layer up in style this Winter.
