If you are looking for something to do this weekend, or over the coming few weeks, head to the National Portrait Gallery to immerse yourself in a century's worth of ground breaking fashion photography.
Celebrating the centenary of Vogue, this in depth exhibition at the NPG chronicles the history of the worlds most influential fashion magazine. Vogue 100: A Century of Style takes us on a journey from the present day, all the back back to Vogue's very first publication in 1916.
With over 280 prints from the archives of Conde Nast, this the ultimate way to travel through the history. Working backwards from modern day Vogue, the exhibition passes from Lara Stone in 2009, to the 90s grunge years of Corinne Day and Kate Moss et all. Through the bolder fashion photography of the 80s including iconic works by Helmut Newton, past the swinging era of Twiggy, right back to the start with Norman Parkinson, Cecil Beaton and Horst P Horst - the original fashion photographers.
All whilst also sharing it's unique perspective on the history of the century. Cataloguing the journey of the magazine through two world wars, paper shortages, it's controversies and it's triumphs.
Vogue 100: A Century of Style runs until May 22nd at the National Portrait Gallery in London.
