NYFW x SS17

New York Fashion Week has come to a close and given us our first taster what key trends to expect for Spring Summer 2017. NYFW has been a big year for changing the way we view, experience and even purchase catwalk collections. But on the catwalks themselves there are already a few important elements that we know will be big trends for the SS17 season.

Oscar de la Renta
Reminding us that sometimes all you need for the Summer season are crisp white dresses. With luxe lace layers, crochet panels, feminine ruffles and sheer touches it's classic Spring Summer style.

Marc Jacobs
Drawing on models from every continent around the globe, this collection was a mad hatter's party of all sorts of cultural influences. A masterclass in how to punk up dainty lace dresses in your own style.

Coach
Whilst many designers are still looking back to the past for style influences, the decade has definitely moved on from last season. Sheer layer, yokes, frills, delicate florals and ribbon bows are decidedly less hippy and more punk in SS17. More proof that the best way to wear lace is with some clashing studs and leather textures too - get the look early with this piece from our AW16 collection.

Delpozo
Now we all know ruffles have been an important trend for 2016, but as we move through AW16 and into SS17 they are getting bigger and bolder than ever before. Delpozo's collection is all about showing how voluminous silhouettes will take the boldness of feminine dressing even further.

Rodarte
One of our favourite collections from NYFW has to be Rodarte. Proof if ever it was needed that layers of frills and oversized sheer ruffles are the way forward for SS17. There was a touch of the cowboy influence that has been playfully hanging around a number of collections this week. A reminder that the addition of leather jackets, black boots and bold accessories are the perfect way to rough up the traditionally gentle femininity of these SS17 trends.

Now, bring on LFW.
