MILAN TRENDING FOR SS17

With Paris Fashion Week now well underway, we're taking a look back on what we have learned from Milan and the key trends to be looking out for come Spring Summer 2017.

From floaty boho layers to 80s style power dressing. These are the top trends and style tips to look forward to come 2017.

Float On
The catwalks of Milan were full of sheer chiffon and floaty lace layers. Making us crave those carefree Summer days already. Designers to note from left to right: No. 21, Alberta Ferretti, Wunderkind, Fendi.

New Bohemian
A decidedly more boho vibe was in full flow on the catwalks of Roberto Cavalli and Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini than we are typically used to in Milan. Referencing the changing decades of influence on the catwalks this season.

The LWD
Now we all know that a major summer staple is the little white dress, and SS17 is going to be rife with them. No Summer wardrobe is complete without one, or two, or three. Designers to note (l-r); Giamba, Ermanno Scervino, MSGM, Diesel Black Gold.

All Black
But despite the floart lace numbers set to continue as a firm fav for SS17, that doesn't mean that darker tones will disappear. Head to toe back was popular for many designers throughout Milan, including on the catwalks for (l-r) No.21, Alberta Feretti, Dolce & Gabbana, Emilio Pucci.

Forever Frills
We already know from NYFW and LFW, that frills are going to continue to be big for SS17, but Milan has set this key trend in stone. Especially the ruffle blouse, which will continue to be a wardrobe essential through AW16 and into 2017. Designers (l-r); Alberta Feretti, Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini, Dolce & Gabbana.

Yoke Details
The victoriana influence is still lingering around for many designers, manifesting itself in a deep love for a ruffled or contrast yoke. See how it's done with the collections from (l-r), Diesel Black Gold, Giamba, Dolce & Gabbana.

Belted
Taking a hint from 80s power dressing, big bold Siouxsie Souix style belts were used by many designers to toughen up those feminine frills. We even saw a few belt bag combo, in a whole new style than the cliched bum bag. Get a masterclass in belt dressing from (l-r): Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini, Alberta Feretti, No. 21.
